President
Darryl brings extensive executive experience to the XI management team. As a professional engineer for over 40 years, he has a wealth of practical hands-on knowledge and a solid background in reserve assessment, regulatory proceedings and corporate evaluations. Darryl oversees XI’s corporate strategic direction.
As the President of XI since its inception, Darryl is most proud of leading the team from a startup enterprise to a well-established organization with industry-leading software tools. Previous to XI, Darryl was President, CFO, and Director of Labrador Technologies Inc. (formerly Sterne Stackhouse Inc.) for seven years. He has also served as a director for numerous companies.
Although Darryl has been an avid proponent of continuous learning, he enjoys nothing more than time with friends and family – preferably at the lake or on the links.
VP Operations
Amber is a seasoned leader with an impressive portfolio of experience with both the technical and client services teams at XI. Her proudest accomplishment at XI was leading a pivot to a web-based product offering while taking the technical team to an Agile Development environment.
Prior to her role of VP Operations, Amber was part of the Client Services department. In this role, she gained valuable, hands-on knowledge about the day-to-day objectives and requirements of XI clients while training them to be more effective with their workflow. Experienced in Investor Relations and databases, Amber’s broad knowledge base and technical savvy allows her to bridge the gap between business and product development. Her diverse educational background includes both a B.Comm (HR and PLM) and B.Ed (Secondary Mathematics).
In her spare time, Amber and her husband have opened a number of successful restaurants and enjoy traveling to experience new and creative ideas in food and entertainment.
VP Business Development
Jennifer is a dynamic leader with a passion for client outreach and advocacy. Her time with XI stretches back to Westcan Petroleum Assets Ltd. in 2000, becoming an integral part of the merger that created XI Technologies Inc in 2004. The entrepreneurial spirit at the newly formed XI meant Jennifer was involved in all aspects of the company, from sales and marketing to client support and training.
As the company grew and client support evolved from a laptop on the kitchen table to a spacious downtown Calgary office, Jennifer’s progression into more senior roles (VP, Business Development and Vice Chairman of the XI Board of Directors) has allowed her to focus on the future of the product suites and overall direction of the company.
Educated at the University of Calgary (BComm, PLM), Jennifer was previously a Landman at Gulf Canada Resources. A dancer at heart, she enjoys travel, time with family and friends, and loves to swing a golf club as often as possible.
VP Drilling Services
Andy is a forward-thinker, inspired to lead XI through the rapid advancement of the industry’s digital transformation. As one of its most senior leaders, he has seen XI through several transformations of its own. His most significant accomplishments and impact has been in the drilling sector, where he pioneered a series of initiatives that lead to the development of XI’s Drill Research division. These ambitious endeavors placed XI at the forefront of several advancements in data accessibility and informed decision-making for WCSB’s drilling sector.
Dedicated to problem solving and workflow improvement, his expertise, industry collaboration, and entrepreneurship drove many success stories for XI clients and growth opportunities for XI. His enduring interest in Business Intelligence and Analytics drives his desire to learn and explore this field and advance XI’s pursuit of essential research and reporting solutions for its clients.
These passions aside, his values place friends, family, and enjoying time outdoors at the top of his priority list.
VP Information Technology
As XI has evolved from a small entrepreneurial start-up into an industry-leading organization, Doug has been focused on building and maintaining a technically competent and robust environment. One of his biggest successes with XI is the migration of XI’s infrastructure to an enterprise class solution.
Joining XI in 2008, Doug’s background includes experience with IT consulting services, financial services, and technical consulting to several oil & gas clients. Educated at the University of Calgary (B. Kinesiology), Doug discovered his technical inclination after a European adventure.
Doug spends his free time with his family and attempts to squeeze in cycling, squash, skiing, snowboarding and cooking whenever possible.
